Ohio roadways can quickly become treacherous during the winter months. It is important to prepare for your trip by planning your route, properly clearing your vehicle, and inspecting your car to ensure it is in optimal working condition. During the December 14 meeting of the Wooster Area Safety Council, Patrolman Don Hall, Wooster Police Department Community Resource Officer will discuss ways to stay safe while driving during the winter.
Ptl. Hall currently serves as the Community Resource Officer for the Wooster Police Department. Prior to his career in law enforcement, Ptl. Hall served active duty in the United States Marine Corps with the 2nd Battalion 8th Marines, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and active reserves with the 3rd Battalion 25th Marines. Ptl. Hall attained the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal.
Ptl. Hall began his 26-year career in law enforcement with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office in December 1995. Ptl Hall was hired by the Wooster Police Department and served 9.5 years as a Patrolman and Task Force Officer (MEDWAY DEA) with a focus on drug trafficking investigations. Ptl. Hall was twice named Wooster P.D. Officer of the Year, Wayne County Children Services Officer of the year, and has received numerous other awards and commendations.
Ptl. Hall spent 10 years with the MEDWAY Drug Enforcement Agency (Drug Task Force) serving as Undercover Agent, Tech Agent, Senior Agent and Director. While serving as Director of the MEDWAY Drug Enforcement Agency, MEDWAY initiated the first-ever federal Wiretap Mexican Drug Cartel investigation in Wayne County with the assistance of the Cleveland DEA, Canton FBI and ATF, dismantling a local international drug cartel component and seizing millions of dollars in drugs, weapons, vehicles and U.S. currency. This investigation led to MEDWAY Drug Enforcement Agency being named the State of Ohio Drug Task Force of the year.
Ptl. Hall is a graduate of the D.E.A. Academy in Quantico, Virginia and the 251st Session of the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, Virginia
Ptl. Hall volunteers at the Wayne County Humane Society and is a member of the 555th Honors Detachment, which performs military burial services at the Western Reserve National Cemetery.
Ptl. Hall resides in the City of Wooster with his family.
