Wayne County has developed a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan to make the streets safer for all residents and visitors in the county. As the guest speaker for the Wednesday, February 19 Wooster Area Safety Council meeting, Scott Miller, Wayne County Engineer will discuss the newly completed Wayne County Safety Action Plan along with other safety initiatives of the Wayne County Engineer Office. They work year-round to ensure the maintenance, repair, construction, and care of the roadways within the county.
Scott is starting his third term as the Wayne County Engineer, which he was first elected for in 2017. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1990 from the University of Akron and became a Professional Engineer in 1994 and a Professional Surveyor in 2010. He previously worked for 13 years in the private sector as a Project Manager/Project Engineer on bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects. Scott's previous experience also includes 14 years in the public sector, 11 as Assistant Portage County Engineer and 3 as Wayne County Bridge Engineer.

This meeting will take place at the First Presbyterian Church in Wooster from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $20 for Chamber members and $25 for non-members.
The Wooster Area Safety Council meets monthly to share knowledge on relevant topics, network with fellow industry professionals, assist organizations in creating safer workplaces, and provide companies with opportunities to earn a rebate on their workers' compensation premiums.
