WASC July 2024 - The Dangers of Distracted Driving

Distracted driving is any activity that diverts attention from driving, including talking or texting on your phone, eating and drinking, or adjusting a navigation system. In 2022, 3,308 people were killed by distracted driving.

To start off the FY25 program year, Wooster Police Department, Patrolman Pagni, will present on July 24 to the Wooster Area Safety Council on The Dangers of Distracted Driving.

Patrolman Nick Pagni was born and raised in Cuyahoga Falls, where the concept of service to others was ingrained from a young age. His entire life has followed this path, as he served in the United States Army before being hired by the Wooster Police Department in 2021. He works in the patrol division, enthusiastically protecting and serving our city, and teaches the impaired driving course at the Wooster Police Citizens Police Academy. Finally, as a newer officer, he appreciates how welcoming the department and community have made him feel.
