When Seconds Matter: Recognizing Cardiac Arrest and Taking Action
To kick off FY26, we are thrilled to welcome Rachel Rexroad from Learn CPR, who will present "When Seconds Matter: Recognizing Cardiac Arrest and Taking Action." Join us for this important meeting on Wednesday, July 23, and empower yourself with knowledge that could save lives!
LEARN CPR was founded in 2019 by Rachel Rexroad, owner and CEO. Rachel is a professional firefighter and paramedic who has worked for several Cleveland suburb fire departments. She is currently employed at a local Akron suburb fire department. After witnessing several calls where a patient needed CPR, an AED, and didn’t receive it because the bystanders were unsure of what to do. The cries, the sobs, and the heartbreak from the patient’s family members were enough for her to realize that something needed to be done. That’s how LEARN CPR was started. LEARN CPR is just what the name implies. They will teach you how to perform CPR, how to use an AED, and more importantly how to handle a cardiac arrest emergency. Their instructors are nurses, doctors, and paramedics, their professional experience allows them to add realism to their training classes. However, not all of their instructors are medical professionals. Some have personal experiences that led them to realize the lack of CPR/AED awareness and education.
This meeting will take place at the First Presbyterian Church in Wooster from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $20 for Chamber members and $25 for non-members.
The Wooster Area Safety Council meets monthly to share knowledge on relevant topics, network with fellow industry professionals, assist organizations in creating safer workplaces, and provide companies with opportunities to earn a rebate on their workers' compensation premiums.
