WASC March 2024 - Basics of Combustible Dust

Wooster Area Safety Council will be covering the Basics of Combustible Dust during the March 20 meeting. Deb Bailey, Safety Consultant Specialist with the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation will be discussing the key items employers should be aware of when working with materials that could be hazardous.

Deb has been a Safety Consultant with the BWC since December  2006. She works with a diverse range of companies in many different industries, from public entities to a wide variety of private companies. She helps customers evaluate their current safety situations, set goals and create plans of action to successfully achieve their goals. She also teaches many safety-related classes for the BWC.

Prior to working at the BWC, Deb was an Environmental, Safety and Health Manager at US Chemical, Environmental Manager for Sea World of Ohio, Environmental Engineering at Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Equipment Division. She started her private industry career as a Research and Development Chemist, after graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from The University of Akron in 1986.
