WASC October 2024 - Emotional Intelligence and Ergonomics

Does employee moral really matter in the workplace? Emotional Intelligence has been found to predict safety performance and workplace accidents. Results of recent studies have indicated that the relationship between Occupational Health and Safety Management Practices and safety performance can be linked to Emotional Intelligence. In theory, workers with high-level EI are likely to cope with occupational health and safety lapses or safety-related challenges by participating and complying with the organization's safety management practices. These employees are likely to exhibit safe working behaviors and contribute to improving safety performance in the workplace.

On October 23, Jared Cass, Director - Occupational Medicine and Employee Health with Avita Health System will present Emotional Intelligence and Ergonomics to the Wooster Area Safety Council.
