About Us

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is one of the largest volunteer networks in the nation for people 55 and better. They use the skills and talents learned over the years, and develop new ones while serving in a variety of volunteer activities within their local community non-profits. RSVP volunteers choose how, where and how often they want to serve, with commitments ranging from a few hours to 40 hours per week. Volunteers receive pre-service orientation, training from the organization where they will serve and supplemental insurance while on duty. Mileage Reimbursement is given to volunteers transporting folks 55+ to medical appointments, grocery store, pharmacy, etc.
Service opportunities are as diverse as the communities in which volunteers serve and may include:
Transporting the disabled
Providing food to the hungry
Assisting seniors with prescriptions and medical referrals
Providing capacity building for non-profit organizations
Organizing neighborhood watch programs
Tutoring and mentoring disadvantaged or disabled youth
Renovating homes
Teaching English to immigrants
Assisting victims of natural disasters
